What is Integrative General Practice?
Integrative General Practice is the form of integrative medicine practiced by GPs. Your integrative GP has the usual qualifications of a doctor, as well as many years experience, but is also further qualified in one or more complementary medicine modalities, such as nutrition and environmental medicine, herbal medicine, or naturopathy. Integrative GPs are able to assess and treat patients using a combination of both mainstream and complementary medicine, as appropriate.
Integrative general practice focuses not only on alleviating symptoms of illness, but on finding and treating the cause. Patients are encouraged to take control of their health with the full support of their integrative GP to achieve disease control and prevention, fewer trips to the doctor, and better overall health and wellbeing.
