New Appointment at NIIM: Director of Education

NIIM is pleased to announce the appointment of Associate Professor Kylie O’Brien PhD as the new Director of Education at NIIM.

Kylie’s qualifications include a BSc (Optom), B AppSc (Chinese Medicine), MPH, PhD (Chinese Medicine) and Grad Cert Tertiary Education. Kylie has worked in the tertiary education sector for over 15 years, in senior teaching and learning administrative positions, as well as in curricula development, course coordination, teaching and research. She developed three of Australia’s Master degree courses in Chinese medicine and acupuncture at two universities in the 2000’s, and has coordinated both undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Chinese medicine. Her experience has spanned both the university and private education sectors. Kylie is a member of the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA) Expert Panel, an international reviewer for the Quality Assurance Agency, Scotland, and regularly takes part in judging panels for the Office of Learning and Teaching. She has adjunct Associate Professor appointments at Victoria University and Torrens University.

NIIM is currently in the process of applying for Higher Education status with TEQSA and the development of the first of several planned postgraduate courses in integrative medicine.
